There are so many things you can make from bat shapes! With our printable shapes coming in four assorted sizes you’ll be able to go bat-crazy with your Halloween decorating.

They’re created as half-bats along a symmetrical line (fold and cut style). This makes light work of cutting out the shapes so you can make more bats quicker. It also means you get the bat plus a bat-shaped window that can be used as a masking template.

Here are some bat craft ideas to get you started.

Things to make from printable bat shapes

• Bat DIY Halloween treats: We’ve already shared the tutorial to make these here.

• Bat sponge art: Use the large bat (full page). Cut the bat shape out and discard this part. Clip the outside shape to another sheet of card stock or art paper with paper clips for a bat-shaped mask. Use a sponge brush, roller, or piece of sponge to dab or roll paint on. Remove the template to reveal a bat-shaped painting.

• Bat Halloween decorations: Print all the sizes to a range of colours and cut them out. Use blu-tack to hang them on the wall for rainbow bat Halloween decorations. For black bats, print to ordinary white paper, then staple to black paper or card stock before folding and cutting the shapes.

• Bat cupcake toppers: Print the extra small bats to a colour of your choice. Cut them out and stick 2 mini bats back-to-back around a toothpick. Use as cupcake toppers for Halloween parties.
