Bats have a bad reputation and are associated with all things Halloween. This is probably because they like to hang out in caves, only come out at night and are good friends with a count named Dracula.

But when you take a closer look, bats are pretty cute. Also, the majority of species eat fruit and insects, not blood (although vampire bats and a select few others do, like Australia’s lesser-known Ghost Bats).

These pattern art bats are the friendly, fruit eating kind. They still come out at night but they want to have fun. They’re a “life-of-the-party” kind of bat and good friends with our pattern art owls.

Decorate your bat in pattern art to help them stand out!

You can make your bat’s body from black or grey paper like a real one, but they also look good on bright colours, like pink. Or bright backgrounds, like yellow.
