How to make DIY mod podge – an easy 2 ingredient mod podge recipe

Mod podge is fantastic for paper crafting and glazing, and it’s a perfect material for kids because it’s washable, water based and non-toxic.

I won’t lie to you, this home made mod podge is not going to give the same professional looking result as the real deal – but it’s close enough for me.

While we love to use it in kids crafts, real mod podge is targeted to adults who are usually seasoned crafters aiming for perfection, and when it comes to kids perfection isn’t the aim. Also nobody really wants to pay high prices for basic kids craft materials.

So make your own!

Maybe you’re not a seasoned crafter like me and aren’t that familiar with mod podge or what you’d use it for. It makes a great glaze over glitter, tissue paper or collages of any kind and gives a smooth protective coat. You can also use it as a paper mache glue. Here are some of the things we’ve made with it.
