Sometimes, even kids need a bit of zen in their lives, especially at Christmas! We mums, dads, grandparents, and teachers could all do with some too.
That’s where doodle art comes in. Patterning is calming and relaxing. It helps the artist go into a ‘flow’ state. Basically this means putting all our problems on hold while we focus on art. Kind of like meditation, only less boring.
Exactly what we all need in holiday rush season!
These Christmas pattern art templates are suitable for ages 8 and over (adults included). Teens and adults can create more complex patterns. Younger kids may be able to do these projects if they have some adult help.
What’s included in the Christmas Pattern Art Bundle?
3D Santa Craft

Our Pattern Art Santa has a one-of-a-kind beard. Decorate it with doodles, then assemble to have a cool 3D effect. It’s been designed for black and white patterns, but if your Santa wants a colourful new look, go right ahead.
Positive Negative Christmas Art

Explore positive/negative space with this set of 3 Christmas designs. There is an angel, a tree and a star to choose from.

Pets in Christmas Stockings

Decorate the Christmas stockings with patterns, then assemble with a 3D kitten or puppy peeking out the top. So cute!
3D Doodle Art Tree

Make a magical doodle art tree with a cool 3D effect! Print the tree shapes to white or coloured cardstock to achieve different looks.

Gingerbread Boy and Girl

Make the cutest gingerbread people in town (with the least calories, haha). There is a boy and a girl character cut out and decorate with cut-and-paste pattern art shapes.
Pattern Art Ornaments

Colour and decorate our leadlight-inspired Christmas ornament shapes. Younger kids could make these as a simple colouring activitiy.
For a limited time, these printable ornaments are free for our subscribers here.

Additional Materials
Pattern art is easiest with markers. We use Sharpie markers (affiliate link) and, for fine details, Sharpie fineliners (affiliate link).
I also recommend printing these projects to light cardstock.
Happy Christmas to all our readers!
