Can you believe it’s ALMOST time for Santa to visit once again?

I know, it’s still November, but the folks at the North Pole like to prepare early, and so do I.

This art project is a great study of monochromatic lines, shapes and patterns, giving it an added STEAM element. But if your Santa wants a more colourful beard, why not indulge him? It is Christmas, after all.

This project has been designed for anyone aged 8 plus (no need to be a kid). Teens and adults can create more complex patterns. Younger kids could still make this, but they will probably need some adult help.

Fold the top beard section along the dotted lines marked. Place glue onto the ‘sideburns’ only (the parts on each side of Santa’s face). Fold the lower edge of the beard so it sits at an angle.

steps to make pattern art Santa - Glue the first section of beard to the face

Glue the eyebrows and cheek spots in place.

Fold and glue the tabs on the two lower sections of beard so they are arranged in three tiers. The largest section of beard goes at the bottom. The tab is reversed so you can’t see it from the front.

Glue the nose and moustache to one 3D support square, then onto Santa’s face.

steps to make pattern art Santa - Glue the hat on with 3D support strips

Glue the hat details in place. Stick some support squares to the reverse of the hat, then glue into place on Santa’s head.
