Kids are going to love this spooky squish art ghost project. As a bonus, they get to learn about symmetry and create Halloween decorations too!
This kid’s art activity is for ages 5+. Younger kids could also make it with some adult help.

I’m not sure why ghost crafts so hauntingly fun! This one is super quick and easy.
If you’re in need of some last-minute Halloween decorations, this is your go-to project.

It works in a similar way to our squish art butterflies and squish art leaves.
You will need cardstock for this project (printer paper will be too thin and may tear). Alternatively, you could always print to ordinary paper, cut the shape out, and trace onto a sheet of folded heavy art paper.

Let’s get squishing!
How to make squish art ghosts
You will need
- Cardstock in white
- Acrylic paint in black
- Scissors
- Cotton buds/Q-tips
- Newspaper or similar to protect your table surface
- The squish art ghost template, available from our printables store and TPT store
How To
Print the ghost templates out to cardstock.
Fold along the fold lines and cut into ghosts. Unfold.

Apply paint to one half of the ghost using a Q-tip. Draw one eye and half a mouth. Add some black shadows to the wiggly pattern edges. It’s important to work quickly to get a solid print.

Fold your ghost in half, press together with your hands, then unfold carefully.

Make your ghost some spooky friends …
