Space Would You Rather cards

When my youngest turned 10, she put in a last-minute request for a “Space” themed party.

I wanted to oblige. Seriously, I love the creative challenge of a themed kids’ party as much as any crafty mum. Except … I’d already purchased a bunch of pink and gold sparkly decorations.

Space is sparkly, but the pink didn’t quite fit, and I didn’t want the decorations to go to waste.

In the end, we compromised. Her party was all things pink and gold, with a little bit of “Space” thrown in just for fun.

Clever party tip:

We used the cards as a party favour by placing one between each layer of paper in Pass the Parcel. I printed them out double-sided so there was a joke on one side, and a question on the other. You could also print them single-sided and alternate between layers.

I worried that the cards would look cheap or boring to the kids, but they went down way better than I expected! The questions generated lively discussion, and the girls had very clever answers. The jokes mostly made them groan, but a couple of kids laughed once or twice.

These 10-year-old girls were a bit too cool for hammy jokes, but I suspect younger kids would find them hilarious.

We hope your kids find them out of this world!
