Last week we shared a peace dove made from an egg carton. Before that, it was a light-up Christmas tree and an egg carton angel.

After making all of the above, there wasn’t much of my egg carton left, but I still had the lid left over.

I thought to myself,Why throw out a perfectly good cardboard scrap? And the egg carton lid snowman was born.

I’ve given my snowpeople a similar look to our washcloth snowman DIY gift. The hats are made from baby socks. The scarves were quick and easy to finger-knit.

The finished decorations are held together with a hot glue gun.

Because my egg carton was white, I had no need to paint my snowmen. If you’re using a coloured carton, I suggest painting it white with acrylic paint.

As with our other egg carton ornaments, this craft is best suited to kids aged 8+. Younger kids could make them with some adult help. But honestly, you’re better off sticking to something simpler, like these cardboard ornaments if you’re crafting with younger kids.
