Mother's Day ladybug card

Mother’s Day is this weekend, so this one’s cutting it fine, but I HAD to get one more card idea in for all of the wonderful mothers out there.

These adorable ladybugs have fingerprint spot wings. Slide them open to reveal Mama’s cute little bug inside.

If you don’t want to bother with photos, there is an alternative cartoon option to use behind the wings instead.

OR, if you prefer the simplicity of colouring in instead of messing around with black paint and coloured paper, there is a colour-your-own version too.

Colour in ladybug card

This card has been designed for preschoolers and kindergarteners. The shapes are uncomplicated to suit early scissor skills. However, due to varying fine motor skills within this age group, some kids may need adults to do the cutting out part.

Cardstock is recommended for this craft.

Adult step: Use a pen knife and cutting mat to create slits in the marked space for the wings. This is easiest to do by layering the wings over the bug body and making a cut through all pages at once.

Attach the wings using the brad clip.

Mom is going to love it!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mums, moms and grandmas out there.
