Christmas festive koala card with Santa hats and antlers

Koalas have a reputation. Everyone thinks all they do is sit around in trees being lazy.

This is true… during the day. But at night, the koalas come out and play, never more so than during the festive season.

This festive koala card has options for kids to create a koala character for Christmas or New Year. The base is a cute koala face that could be used for any occasion.

Add a Santa hat, beard, bells, holly or light-festooned reindeer antlers to make your character Christmassy.

OR dress them up for New Year. There are silly glasses, party hats, earrings and party whistles.

Some koalas like to keep it simple with a Santa hat and a couple of bells. Others go all out, especially if they’ve had a few too many eucalyptus leaves.

Then there’s Uncle Bob. He always takes things a little bit too far—but it wouldn’t be Christmas without him so we love him anyway.

Accessory notes:

The glasses can be coloured in solid or have the inside stars cut out. It’s easiest to do this with a craft knife and cutting mat (an adult must complete this step).

The beard and glasses work when glued directly over the existing face parts (eyes and chin), so you don’t need to leave them off if planning a bearded or sunglass-wearing koala.
