Make an adorable DIY Mouse gift card with a cheesy surprise inside!
This is a fun card kids can make for somebody special. It’s been designed with Christmas in mind, but there is an additional inside option so you can use this template for any occasion (eg: birthdays, Father’s day, thank you cards etc).
What do you love most about Christmas?
I love all the expensive, specialty cheese. So do mice—that’s something we have in common.
In fact, this DIY mouse gift card contains a slice of cheese sooo special it can’t be bought. You might even say it’s priceless.

It’s printable cheese that doubles as a customisable gift card!
It works like a blank check, with space for kids to write whatever ‘gift’ they’re prepared to give.
It might be a giant hug, breakfast in bed, a car wash, or a bonus chore (what parent wouldn’t love getting that for Christmas?)

The template includes a cut-and-paste mouse card, designed to be printed to coloured card stock, as well as a colour-your-own card.
Both are very easy to make, but the colour-your-own vesrion is less fiddly, uses less paper and is easier to print out.

How to make a DIY Mouse Gift Card
Note: This tutorial is for the cut-and-paste version only. The digital template includes separate instructions for the colour-your-own and cut-and-paste versions.
You Will Need
- Card stock in the following colours
– White or grey for the mouse – 1 sheet per card
– Pink for the glue-on mouse details – 1 sheet per 5 cards
– White for the interior – one sheet per card
– 2 extra colours of choice per card for the gift and ribbon - Scissors
- Glue stick
- Craft knife and cutting mat – an adult must complete this step, or alternatively use a loop of masking tape to attach the gift card to the inside of the present
- The Mouse Card template, available from our printables store and TPT store
How to:
Print the template out as per the instructions in the download.

Cut the shapes out.

Glue the pink cheeks, ears and nose to the mouse’s face and the bow to its tail.

Assemble the gift card parts.

Glue the ribbon to the present. Trim the excess ribbon that overlaps the edges.
Fold the bow so it pops up and glue to the front right ribbon cross.

Cut the slits on the card inside with a craft knife and cutting mat (an adult must do this step). Glue this to the reverse/inside of the gift but do not apply glue around the slit lines. Fold into a card.

Glue the gift to the mouse so the top of the present sits just below the mouse’s chin.
Fold the paws and tail around the gift and glue the left side paw and tail down. Draw 3 finger lines on the back of the paws.
Fill out the gift card, slot it in, and write a message in the card.

Happy Cheesemas everybody! I hope it’s a good one.
