Create a gorgeous Pansy Flower Craft to decorate for Spring with an easy scrape painting technique and our latest template.
This is the fourth and final craft in our Flower Scrape Art series. It’s suitable for kids aged 6+.

What’s your favourite flower?
I confess that mine are tulips, with roses coming in a close second. Pansies are up there too though, battling it out for third place with the cosmos flowers.
But why settle for just one favourite flower when you can make a “wall garden” filled with all your favourites?

You can get the full set of scrape art flower templates in a value bundle here.
Scrape painting is fun and easy! That’s why I have so many projects featuring this technique. It always turns out great and you don’t need to be a skilled artist to pull it off—kids can do it just fine.
For these pansies, we’ve used used craft sticks to scrape the paint in a straight, vertical scrape across a page. A squeegee would also work. You can read more about craft stick scrape painting as it’s own activity here.
I’ve left the pansy flower craft for last with this series because it’s slightly more complicated to cut out and glue together than the other flowers. This is because there are more shapes and they need to be layered in a particular order to create the flower. It’s still very easy though!

Our flowers turned out so pretty. I love their crinkle-edged leaves!
Extra Tips
- Keep the cut-off paper scraps. The centre dot and colour patch in the middle of our pansies are made from scraps left over from other flowers in the collection.
- I suggest printing the templates to card stock because this makes them easier to trace around (especially for little hands), although paper will also work.

The finished flowers are quite large, but are still the smallest of this series. A single bloom would make a cute DIY kid-made gift for Mother’s Day.
Note: Scrape art can get messy. Make sure you have plenty of newspaper on hand to protect your furniture.
Are you ready to make some pansies?

How to:
Squirt paint directly onto your paper in 2-3 colours that blend well. Include a line of paint along one edge.

Scrape the paint across the page, starting at the edge with the paint.

Create green scrape art for the stems and leaves using the same technique, and pink, orange or yellow for the centre shapes.

Allow to dry.
Print the pansy flower, stem and leaf shapes out. Cut out the shapes.

Place the large petal shapes (pansy 1-3) directly over the purple scrape art and trace around them. Cut the shapes out.

Place the centre shapes over the warm-toned scrape art. Cut the shapes out.
Layer and glue the middle petals over the base petal and the front petal over the middle petals.

In the centre, glue the yellow and pink shapes.

Trace the stem and leaf shapes onto green scrape art. Cut the leaves and stems out.
Glue into place to complete your pansy.

Now add them to your wall flower garden.
