There is something addictive about crafting with yarn. I have this weird problem where I walk into the craft supply store for one thing (say, craft glue) and then walk out with an armload of new yarn. Where will I put it? I don’t know but I know I will make something with it one day.

Until then here is a fun and easy yarn-wrapped bunny craft you can make with your kids.

How to make Yarn Easter Bunnies:

You will need:

• Yarn – this craft works best with a thick, fluffy variety. We didn’t use a huge amount per bunny so one ball of yarn could make quite a few bunnies.
• Craft glue
• Felt scraps
• A paper towel tube
• Scissors
• Pom poms for the tails

How To:

Create an adorable Easter Bunny craft using yarn and a cardboard tube

Step 1 | Squish and flatten the top half of your cardboard tube and cut a bunny ear shape like in the picture above. Pop the tube out into it’s round shape again and you now have a cardboard tube bunny shape to work with. I’ve put the ears at the back on ours but there is no reason why you couldn’t have the ears at the front if you choose.

Step 2| Apply glue along the back of your cardboard tube. Wrap yarn from the base up to the top, up and down each ear, and back to the base. Glue the final tail of the yarn down so the bunny will stay fully wrapped.

Step 3 & 4| You now have a yarn-wrapped rabbit shape. Cut shapes from the felt to create eyes, nose, whiskers, paws, feet and the pieces inside the ears. Glue these on with craft glue.

Step 5| Glue on the pom pom tail and leave the craft to dry.

All done!

These bunnies are getting ready for the big Easter delivery. Now where is that chicken who lays the chocolate eggs?
