Kids adore getting gifts at Christmas and I’ve always found they love giving them just as much. But showing gratitude for the thought, cost and effort people have put into their presents is something that doesn’t seem to come as naturally to them.

Let’s face it, there are often a LOT of people to thank, and making a special card for each of them would be exhausting!

Printable thank you postcards

These print-and-colour cards are a great way to make thank you’s easy and fun. Each card features a winter-themed character “juggling” a thank you message. There is a raccoon, a monkey, a penguin and a snowman to colour.

Kids can choose to make folded cards that are blank inside for their personalised message, or a postcard with a printed message at the bottom that says: Your thoughtful gift made my day. This version saves on paper and also limits the labour of handwriting if there are lots of cards to make. They can still put a personalised message on the back if they want to.

How to make the print-and-colour thank you cards

You will need:

  • Light card stock (recommended but not essential)
  • Pencils, markers or crayons to colour the designs
  • The printable template, available in our printable shop as well as our TPT store

How to:

Print the template of your choice to light card stock and colour the images.

For the folded cards, you will get best results if you score a fold line first. Do this by holding a ruler to the two markers indicated and running a blunt butter knife (or a scoring tool if you have one) along it. This step is optional.

Cut the cards out and write your message on the inside for the folded cards, or on the back for the postcards.
