Candy cane reindeer card kids can make

Everyone loves a handmade card at Christmas, and this reindeer is an extra-yummy one with her candy cane antlers! And she looks just as cute with paper antlers.

The steps involve basic cutting, folding, gluing and some hot glue at the end to hold the candy canes in place. You can buy low temp hot glue guns for kids (affiliate link), but if you’re concerned about safety have an adult do this step.

The inside of the card is blank so kids can add in a personalised hand-written message.

You can also use this template to make a fun reindeer gift bag!

Card stock is ideal for this craft, as paper will be too flimsy to hold candy canes. Also, antlers made from printer paper may be too floppy.

To make Rudolph, use the white nose and colour red with markers.

Lets get started …

Colour the inner ears and Rudolph nose (if using). Cut the nose, eyes, antlers and inner ears out.

Reindeer card step 2

Cut the head shape out and fold in half along the fold line (the fold line is missing in the images, but I added it after photographing to make it easier for kids to find the exact middle of the card base).

Cut the mouth, ears, eyes and nose out and glue them on.
