There are lots of reindeer crafts in our back catalogue. I know I don’t need any more, but these are reindeer we’re talking about. Magical, four-legged animals that fly and deliver gifts to children all over the world.

In other words, they’re heroes, and they deserve to be celebrated!

Making the 3D reindeer craft

Card stock is recommended for sturdiness when making this craft. For the snowy background, we’ve used a paint pen, but you could use white paint with a Q-tip instead if you have no paint pens.

To make Rudolph, use the white nose and colour it red with markers.

The suggested age range is 7+, although this craft is easy enough that some younger kids would also be capable (depending on ability).

You will need:

  • Card stock in white, brown and blue
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick
  • Markers, pencils, crayons, etc
  • Either a paint pen or white paint with a Q-tip
  • The printable template, also available in our TPT and ETSY stores

How to:

Print the reindeer shoulder and head shapes to brown card stock. Print the page with the eyes, nose and antlers to white card stock.

3D reindeer craft steps

Colour the inner ears and Rudolph nose (if using). Cut the nose, eyes, antlers and inner ears out.

Cut the reindeer head, shoulder and outer ear shapes out.

3D reindeer craft steps

Glue the shoulders to a backing sheet of blue card stock.

3D reindeer craft steps

Draw a mouth in the centre of the largest head shape (this makes the snout). I’ve done this step after gluing, in the example, but it’s easier if you do it before.

Fold the tabs and glue in place above the reindeer’s shoulders, overlapping the neck.

Fold the tabs on the top face shape and glue in place so it sits slightly under the top edge of the snout piece.

Glue the inner ears onto the brown ear shapes, fold the tabs and glue to the side of your reindeer’s top head piece.

Glue the, eyes, nose and antlers into place on the reindeer’s top head piece.

3D reindeer craft steps

Make the background snowy using a paint pen or Q-tip white paint dots.
